Porter Square redesign

First of all, I had no idea Porter Square has the name due to a claim of naming the porterhouse steak. Secondly, why can't we be cool like Harvard and Davis?. Do we even want to be? Has the design project really helped Porter? As someone who walks that area daily it seems about the same to me and although it is spruced up a bit, whats the deal with the checkers. What do I know about the subject anways, link below to an article writen by someone who knows what they are talking about.
